SHARE is a non-profit organization that builds and strengthens communities through volunteer service while offering savings on high-quality food. Everyone and anyone is welcome to participate in SHARE. There are no income requirements, just a desire to make a positive difference in the world. We encourage our members to donate their time to a worthy cause within the community. Join SHARE today!
SHARE IS UNIQUE. Whether you drive a Cadillac or ride the public bus, YOU have something to share with others. SHARE recognizes that gift or talent and rewards it with access to quality groceries at reduced cost. SHARE participants can count on savings of 50% on groceries that are of excellent quality and freshness. While saving money is good for everyone's pocket, serving our communities feeds the spirit and brings forth the goodness so desired in our world.
SHARE IS VOLUNTEER SERVICE. Volunteer service is defined as friendly acts of good will or service to the benefit of one's neighbor or community as a whole. This service might be tutoring a student, reading to a blind person, delivering meals to the elderly, or volunteering in your neighborhood SHARE site.
SHARE IS A PARTNER IN THE COMMUNITY. SHARE operates through community organizations called Host Sites. These organizations are churches, community centers, towns, senior centers, VFW halls, service clubs, day care centers, etc. Through volunteer leadership teams trained by SHARE, host sites sign up participants, provide and monitor volunteer service opportunities, and pick up and distribute SHARE food once a month. SHARE is an opportunity for all people to share their gifts with the community and get something in return. For some people it may mean an opportunity to stretch their food dollars; for others it may be the difference whether a family will have food on the table. For others, SHARE may be a simple way to help. For all participants, SHARE is a commitment to use our energies to build a world without boundaries, without limits, without hunger.
