Changing Lives
For over 116 years, our mission has been to help families improve their lives: one child at a time,
one senior citizen at a time, one family at a time. Parents at a recent graduation ceremony for the Rosa Valdez and Cuscaden Early Intervention Centers spoke openly and with tears of gratitude about what the Centers have meant in their lives.
“I’m a single mom going to school and working, trying to make things better for my kids. Here you
can feel it’s like a family. My son has had seizures and they treat all my kids like they’re theirs and to
me that means a lot; that means that I don’t have to worry about them when I leave.”
- Janice S.
“My son was a preemie and people told us he would never be a normal child. When we brought him
here, it was a total difference. Now they see him and they’re like ‘is that him?’ So he came a long way.
To see him graduate; it’s real emotional, he’s accomplished something and he’s moving on.”
- Antwan J.
“They’ve done so much with my kids, they were very shy and they were scared and they worked a lot with
the kids. I love this daycare. They have done a lot for me and for my kids. I’m very thankful.”
- Ada R.
(As a parent )“The teachers here don’t just treat you as a regular mother, they treat you as a
family member. They want you to feel good about yourself; once you see them, they just bring you joy.”
-Luz L.
“I was very, very proud that my daughter graduated from Rosa Valdez Center, because that gives
me the hope that she is getting prepared for a better future. It was the first surprise after many
stages of suffering (in my personal life) to see that hat on my daughter’s head.”
