| Our History
What began in 1892 as a ministry to Latin immigrant families coming to Tampa to work in cigar factories, has now evolved into a statewide ministry for families. We believe that families are the cornerstones of the community and we are working to provide them with tools for success. Therefore a decision was made to change our name from Tampa United Methodist Centers to Cornerstone Family Ministries. Our United Methodist heritage is still our backbone and our commitment and mission is steadfast. The vision and scope of our ministry to families is expanding as we touch over 30,000 families each month.
Cornerstone Family Ministries has been an integral part of the Tampa community for over 100 years! To read more about the foundation of our agency, click the link below.
Cornerstone Family Ministries' History
Our Donors
Just like the foundation of the city in Revelation 21:18-27, the foundation of our ministry is based on an outstanding group of donors. These donors are classified into four gemstone groups: Amethyst, Sapphire, Emerald and Diamond. Cornerstone Family Ministries is also deeply grateful to the churches and businesses that contribute to our mission.
